Yellow jackets have a fearsome reputation, and as the video below shows, it’s not entirely unmerited. There are many dangers in the wild, but an agitated nest of yellow jackets is almost like an act of nature. Each colony houses thousands of individuals and unlike bees, yellow jackets can sting multiple times.

If you happen to sight a nest of this size in the woods, it’s advisable not to approach it.
