Video: You Need a Machete to Cut This Monster Morel Mushroom

We’re not sure if machetes should be included in your morel hunting equipment, but sometimes a mushroom knife simply doesn’t cut it. This huge 13-incher was found by Chris Matherly in Georgia in 2010, and it is a stunning example of just how large morels can grow. Although uncommon, it is not unknown for some types of morels to grow over 10 inches in length.

That’s going to make a lot of omelets.
