Family Raises Pet ‘Dog’ For Two Years, Turns Out To Be Endangered Asiatic Black Bear

A family in China was forced to part ways with their pet after realizing the “puppy” they had been raising for two years turned out to be an endangered Asiatic Black Bear.

The family apparently brought the animal home thinking it was a Tibetan mastiff, which in their defense do closely resemble black bears – especially when they’re puppies! It had a massive appetite that surprised the family from day one, but when their pet dog started walking around on two legs, they knew something definitely wasn’t right.

The more he grew, the more like a bear he looked,” said Ms. Yun according to The Independent.

I assume he must have looked a lot like a bear after growing to weigh 250-lbs! Take a look at the size of this bear in the video below:

Imagine that thing walking around your house on its hind legs. . .

The animal was eventually turned over to the Yunnan Wildlife Rescue Center, after the family reached out for help moving the animal.
