NSSF Finalizes Deal to Expand SHOT Show to MGM Grand, Caesars Forum

It’s hard to put into words just how huge SHOT Show actually is, so it’s really difficult to fathom how the show can get any bigger than it already is. That’s the plan for 2020 and 2021, though, as organizers are set to expand SHOT Show into two new venues.

Since 2010, the show has been hosted at Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, where some 60,000 outdoors enthusiasts and more than 2,000 exhibitors gather each year to launch new products and discuss the state of the industry.

Sands offers up 650,000 square feet of floor space during the four day event, and yet organizers still had to turn away exhibitors for the 2018 show simply because there wasn’t enough space.

“Not only can’t we get companies off the waiting list, but we can’t let other companies expand their presence,” National Shooting Sports Foundation Senior Vice President and CEO Chris Dolnack told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

So, the NSSF signed brand new three-year contracts to expand SHOT Show into two separate venues.

First, it will add space in the MGM Grand Conference Center in 2020. Then, the following year, it will expand further into Caesars Forum. Overall, the show will increase in size to nearly 950,000 square feet.

“By further diversifying the show and having a larger number of new companies, we will attract retailers every year that may currently come every other year.” Dolnack reportedly said.

This year’s show, according to Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA,) generated $127.2 million, bringing the cumulative economic impact of SHOT Show to the city to $1.1 billion.
