Outdoor clothing company Patagonia Inc. said the company plans on donating the $10 million they saved from federal tax cuts “back to the planet.”
Patagonia’s CEO, Rose Marcario, penned a vehement blog article calling the tax exempts “irresponsible” and noted the companies intentions to give the funds to nonprofit groups who focus on conservation and climate issues.
“We recognize that our planet is in peril,” Marcario wrote. “We are committing all $10 million to groups committed to protecting air, land and water and finding solutions to the climate crisis. We have always funded grassroots activism, and this $10 million will be on top of our ongoing 1% for the Planet giving.”
The company has lashed out at the Trump administration before, using the homepage of their website to blast Trump for ‘stealing protected land.’
