SHOT Show 2019: Savage Model 110 High Country Rifle
Terry Nelson 01.24.19
Savage is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2019. Along with that Savage will introduce over 40 new firearms in a wide variety of caliber and gauge choices. One of those rifles is the Savage Model 110 High Country Rifle.
Visiting the Savage booth during this year’s SHOT Show I came across a new Savage hunting rifle that has real appeal. The Savage Model 110 High Country is a handsome rifle that is accentuated by its barrel and bolt spiraled fluting. Not to mention the rifle is offered in 11 calibers including the now popular 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC and 280 Ackley Improved.
The High Country bolt action specifications and features include:
–Barrel color, coyote brown
–Barrel finish, matte
–Barrel length, 22-24 inch
–Weight, 8.5 pounds
–Detachable 4 round box magazine
–Camouflage (True Timber Strata) synthetic stock
–Threaded barrel
–AccuFit comb and length of pull
–AccuTrigger
–AccuStock rail system
–Spiral fluted barrel and bolt
–Coyote brown PVD coating on barrel, receiver and action
MSRP for the Savage Model 11o High Country is $1129.
I currently own and use several other Savage firearms and believe the High Country is a rifle built to be practical aside from its visual appeal. For a variety of big game species and hunting environments this rifle should perform well.
