What’s that climbing in the tree? A Bird? A squirrel? Nope, that’s a tree-climbing coyote with a serious appetite for some apples!
Toronto, Canada resident Kathy Wilson was looking out her window at the snow covered wilderness, and caught this song dog in a very peculiar position. It was perched on the branches of a nearby apple tree snacking on crab apples and taking in the view.
Pretty impressive balance, wouldn’t you say? Though, getting down from there would prove to be slightly more difficult..
Once he’s had his fill in apples, the coyote climbs down from the tree – somewhat clumsily – and trots off as if nothing happened. Good thing this video didn’t go viral or anything..
We’ve seen coyotes end up in some strange places before, but this tree-climbing coyote definitely takes the cake!
What’s the strangest place you’ve spotted a coyote before?
This time of year, coyote sightings tend to increase as they are more visible during their breeding season (January – March). Coyotes are highly adaptable and can be found just about anywhere: from forests, fields, farmlands, neighborhoods, urban cities.. and yes, even in trees.
