The Indian Army drew a lot of attention on Twitter Monday, after claiming to find abominable snowman footprints in the snow, and folks are still letting them hear about it.
According to folklore, the abominable snowman lives in the Himalayas, but no proof of the enormous mythical creature has ever been brought forward.
On Monday, however, the Indian Army’s official Twitter account posted photos of “Yeti footprints” supposedly near Makalu Base Camp.
“For the first time, an #IndianArmy Moutaineering Expedition Team has sited Mysterious Footprints of mythical beast ‘Yeti’ measuring 32×15 inches close to Makalu Base Camp on 09 April 2019. This elusive snowman has only been sighted at Makalu-Barun National Park in the past.”

Unsurprisingly, the tweet went viral in a hurry, triggering a mass barrage of jokes and criticism from folks around the globe:
This must be vetted thoroughly before the decision to declare something as ridiculous as this is made.

Seriously disappointing to see Army propagating such foolish myths into reality. Expected better from you guys

Either I’m missing the joke, or the Indian Army is claiming that it’s found what it believes is evidence of a literal yeti. 🤦🏾♂️ https://t.co/dTai7OFTBu
