How the Veteran-Owned Business Got Started
The idea for the Manly Man Company was generated during a casual conversation between the company’s founders, Greg Murray and his wife Jacquie, about finding the perfect gift for “him” on Valentine’s Day; Why isn’t there a gift for men that’s equivalent to flowers?
And thus, the idea of “Man Bouquets” – jerky sticks carved into the shape of flowers and presented inside a pint glass or beer mug “vase” – was born.
After the Murray’s discovered they had something real on their hands, Greg asked an old friend, Ben Wynkoop, to get involved. Greg and Ben enlisted in the Marine Corps together shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. After returning home, Greg got a job as a web developer and Ben got involved in digital marketing. The perfect team to market the unusual products Ben and Jacquie had developed!
