The New Sub-MOA Ridgeline Scout Rifle from Christensen Arms

A new scout rifle has just hit the market from one of our favorite rifle manufacturers. The New Christensen Arms Ridgeline Scout Rifle is a brand new purpose-built bolt-action scout rifle that will be available in 4 different popular calibers and will also be one of the lightest scout rifles in its class largely in part due to its composite stock and carbon fiber wrapped barrel. Like all of Christensen Arms’ rifles, the Ridgeline scout will still carry the same level of quality along with their famous Sub-MOA guarantee right from the factory.

The ridgeline scout is being entered in as a new addition to the Ridgeline series of rifles, the Scout is purpose-built to be compact, reliable, and lightweight to offer shooters a gun that will fit in situations where larger rifles cannot go or will be too cumbersome (think tree stands, ground blinds, or shooting from a truck or car). The Ridgeline Scout weighs in starting at just 5.9-pounds and will feature a Black-Nitride coated action, a 0-MOA optic rail, Barricade stop, a 10-round AICS drop-box magazine, and a flat-shot Trigger Tech Trigger. The rifles will be available in a black and tan carbon fiber composite sporter stock. Paired with an extended eye relief scope, I think that the Ridgeline Scout looks like a pretty awesome package for hunting. The Rifle is said to be an ideal suppressor host by Christensen and is also backed by Christensen Arms’ Sub-MOA guarantee.

“We are excited to add the new Ridgeline Scout rifle to the Ridgeline series. The intent was to offer shooters the same familiarity and performance of the Ridgeline in a shorter, more compact, system. This Ridgeline Scout has the same accuracy potential and dependability as our field-proven Ridgeline rifles, as they share many of the same features, technology and components.”

Stephen Graham, Senior VP of Marketing, Christensen Arms

The barrel of the Ridgeline Scout rifle will be made from Christensen Arms 416R Stainless steel with an Aerograde carbon fiber wrap which terminates in the removable 3-prong flash hider. Christensen’s Arms has their barrels button rifled and hand lapped for maximum precision. The barrel will also feature a match-grade chamber, be completely free-floated, and feature a 5/9×24 thread pitch which the only exception to this being the .223 version which will feature a 1/2×28 thread pitch. For such a densely featured rifle, I believe that this might be a great option for a solid prairie hunting rifle when paired with 6.5 Creedmoor.
