Some people base the changing of the seasons on their calendars. Here, we know that spring has arrived when we hear that faint “Gobble gobble” coming from within. It slowly grows to an unignorable roar until we finally satisfy the call of spring turkey season. Well, that small gobble is growing once again, and that means it’s time to start planning and selecting your gear. If you’re looking to change ammunition, HEVI-Shot has just given you a new option. These are the new HEVI-18 TSS turkey loads.

“TSS shot is an excellent option for turkey hunters, and we are excited to feature it in the new HEVI-18 shotshells,” said Scott Turner, HEVI-Shot’s Product Line Manager. “A great benefit of this load is that hunters have an extremely effective .410 option without sacrificing performance. This allows hunters of all ages and sizes to be able to carry a smaller shotgun without having to second guess the shotshell payload or penetrating power.”
NEW HEVI-18 TSS Turkey Loads From HEVI-Shot
The new HEVI-18 TSS turkey loads are available in 12 gauge, 20 gauge, and .410 bore. They use a mix of thick based-wads, hotter primers, and special propellants to ensure reliable cycling in your semi-auto shotgun. To keep patterns tight, they use a spherical buffer material. All three gauges come in 3″ versions, with 12 gauge also offering two 3.5″ shell options. Those 3.5″ shells have a 2 1/4 oz payload, while the 3″ 12 gauge shells hold two ounces. All of the 20 gauge shells deliver 1 1/2 oz of shot, and the .410 loadings are 13/16 oz apiece. Both number 7 and number 9 shot sizes are available. The 12 and 20 gauge loads share a velocity of 1,250 feet-per-second, while the .410 comes in at 1,090.
