[SHOT 2023]The YHM Fat Cat: Full Size Suppression, Compact Suppressor

The fine folks at Yankee Hill Machine Co. (YHM) have brought out a very compact new suppressor for SHOT Show 2023 with the YHM Fat Cat 5.56 suppression system. The Fat Cat is a 5.56Nato can that’s rated for Full-Auto fire but is only 4.25 inches long. YHM has designed this new can to be as compact as possible all the while still capable of performing on a similar level to full-size 5.56Nato suppressors. Yankee Hill Machine Co. made the new sRx mini mount to keep the whole package as short as possible on the Fat Cat suppression system.

The Fat Cat features a uniquely designed blast chamber that is smaller in diameter than the rest of the suppressor. This allows the can to be “tucked” into the front of most AR-15 hand guards. This is all in an effort to make an even more streamlined and flush-fitting package on your 5.56 AR-15. The end of the Fat Cat on the other hand is made with a unique larger baffle system that allows for a much larger internal volume inside the suppressor. That along with the unique blast baffle arrangement results in a low, pleasant tone to the user, along with a reduced amount of gas being blown back into your face.
