[NRAAM 2023] Federal’s New Competition Ammo: Action Shotgun 12ga
Eugene L. 04.29.23
Federal Premium Ammunition has brought out its newest shotgun ammunition to NRAAM 2023, a loading specially designed for high-intensity 3-gun competition shooting. The new Action Shotgun 12 gauge ammunition has had every aspect designed to help 3-gun competitors run their shotgun stages, the roll crimp chosen adds rigidity to the shell allowing for improved cycling in both tube-fed or magazine-fed shotguns. The payload of the shell is a high-quality No. 7.5 lead shot pellets that weighs in at 1 1/8th ounces, which has a carefully selected powder charge behind it to make a consistent 1235 fps muzzle velocity. The 1235 fps muzzle velocity of the load was carefully chosen to be a perfect balance of power, shootability, and control. That way each shot has enough power to knock down targets on a course, but still, be easily shootable to run that course with good speed and precision. The shell cup of the shell is made of plated steel for reliable feeding and extraction to reduce the risk of jams on the course. This loading of 12 gauge has been in the works for quite a while now and had rigorous testing with professional shooters on many different 3-gun stages. These shotshells should be available soon and will be available in cases of 200rds with an MSRP of $169.99 for the case.
