Apex Optics recently expanded its offerings with a new line of binoculars, red dots, and riflescopes at SHOT 2024. Here’s a closer look at the specifications and features of the new products they introduced.
Summit 10×42 ED Binoculars:
– Integrated reticle
– Prime ED (Extra-low Dispersion) Japanese glass
– BAK4 phase corrected prism
– IP67 rated for water and dust resistance, argon purged
– Full magnesium body for strength and weight reduction
The Summit 10×42 ED Binoculars enhance observation with their integration of a reticle, which assists with quick measurement or sighting. Utilizing high-quality ED glass and phase corrected prisms, they offer a bright and detailed image. Built for durability, they feature a full magnesium body, are waterproof and dustproof to IP67 standards, and the internal components are argon purged to prevent internal fogging, ensuring clarity in changing environments.
The Summit ED2 Binoculars bring a high-powered 15×56 optical system to the table, offering impressive magnification and wide views for enhanced scouting and observation. These binoculars also incorporate an abbe-koenig phase coated prism, which helps to increase light transmission and provide a brighter and clearer image.
Apex Optics introduced yet another model in their Summit series, the Summit Pro Reticle Binoculars, offering a 12×50 prime ED Japanese Glass construction. They, too, benefit from BAK4 phase corrected prisms and are built within a full magnesium body. Like the other Summit offerings, they have an IP67 rating and are argon purged.
Moving on to their red dot sights, the Fusion 1×30 and Atom 1×28 models were announced with the following features:
Atom 1×28:
– Side battery compartment for easier access
– A 3MOA dot with selectable reticle options
– Automatic brightness adjustment based on ambient light
– Jolt-awake technology with automatic sleep mode for battery conservation
– 2 night vision and 8 daylight brightness settings
Fusion 1×30:
– Patented vari-dot reticle system
– Automatic brightness adjustment
– Jolt-awake technology with automatic sleep mode
– 2 night vision and 8 daylight brightness settings
The red dots are designed for quick target acquisition and offer enhancements in technology with features like the patented vari-dot system in the Fusion and selectable reticles in the Atom model. Both have automatic brightness settings, conserving battery with jolt-awake technology, making them efficient companions for rapid response situations.
Lastly, Apex’s Apex Hunter 3-15×44 riflescope showcases an HLR reticle with MRAD turrets and reticle for precise aiming and adjustments. It comes as a first focal plane (FFP) optic, ensuring the reticle size adjusts accurately with magnification changes, which is particularly useful for long-range precision. The riflescope is priced at $1,200.
I had the opportunity to personally handle these new offerings at the show. The clarity and quality of the materials used in the binoculars were immediately noticeable. Similarly, the responsiveness of the red dot sights in various light conditions spoke to the effectiveness of their automatic brightness and power management features. The riflescopes’ optics were crisp, making it easy to appreciate the precision engineering involved in their design.
The addition of these products to Apex Optics’ lineup demonstrates the company’s continuous commitment to delivering high-quality sighting devices to its customers. The specifications and features of these new models are expected to meet the diverse needs of outdoor enthusiasts and professionals alike.
