Mossberg Releases Mossberg Patriot Short Action Single Shot Sled

Public Act 102-0932 came into effect on January 1st this year for the hunters of Illinois. This new law allows hunters to use any rifle chambered in an Illinois legal caliber that has been manufactured or modified to be a single-shot rifle to be used for hunting deer. So to let Illinois hunters use their short-action Patriot bolt actions to harvest deer this year, Mossberg has brought out the Single Shot Sled. This device is designed so that any short-action Patriot rifle can quickly be made into a single-shot rifle when the Single Shot Sled is inserted in place of a standard capacity box magazine. As the Single Shot Sled works with all short-action Mossberg Patriot rifles it should be noted, that only the 350 Legend, 450 Bushmaster, and new 400 Legend Patriot Models that are allowed under current rules.

Mossberg & Sons, Inc., releases the Mossberg Patriot™ Single Shot Sled for use with all short-action calibers in Mossberg’s current lineup of Patriot bolt-action rifles. A new Illinois law went into effect on January 1, 2023, and this factory-authorized single shot accessory may give deer hunters in Illinois an additional option as to using their Mossberg Patriot rifle.
The sled is designed to limit the capacity of short-action Patriot rifles to a single shot when used in place of the standard box magazine. Compliant cartridges, pursuant to Illinois Public Act 102-0932, include the following straight-walled cartridges offered in the Patriot series: 350 Legend, 450 Bushmaster, and the recently introduced 400 Legend. Note: Laws and regulations are always subject to change, and you should confirm with your local law enforcement.
With Illinois ranking as one of the top whitetail hunting states, the use of the new Patriot Single Shot Sled provides hunters the option to take centerfire rifles afield when deer hunting.
