The Springfield Armory TRP AOS Delivers us Optic Readiness & 9mm!

The Springfield Armory TRP has decades of use behind it in both law enforcement and civilian arenas while being chambered in the classic 1911 cartridge of 45 Auto. For many years, shooters have clamored for not only the more affordable and significantly more popular 9mm round, but they’ve also wanted to add their favorite optics into the mix. Now, with what Springfield is announcing today, you can have both! The new TRP (Tactical Response Pistol) AOS (Agency Optic System) handguns are chambered for 9mm with factory optic cuts.

What are the Specs?

These new iterations of the TRP carrying AOS attributes for mounting optics still retain a lot of the goodness we have come to know from the TRPs that have existed all along. You have forged frames and slides, Match-Grade barrels, Cerakote finishes, and everything is meticulously hand-fit like a Custom Shop firearm. With today’s announcement, there are 8 new models being unveiled to the public. You have 4 new options in the .45 ACP cartridge and 4 more in 9mm. Both rounds have selections available in a 5″ or 4.25″ Carry Contour barrel as well as your choice of a Black or Coyote Brown Cerakote finish.

Final Thoughts

The Springfield Armory TRP has been around since the early 2000s when the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team solicited this pistol and were the impetus for its birth.
