The first annual Monster Buck Classic We are Kansas event, Presented by Mossy Oak Properties of the Heartland, will be making its debut at the Kansas ExpoCentre in Topeka, KS January 27-29, 2012. This will be Kansas’ first ever annual statewide Buck contest and Deer Hunting Expo.
The Monster Buck Classic We Are Kansas event will promote the great sport of deer hunting and outdoor recreation in Kansas by offering a whole-some venue which the general public of Kansas can display their passion for the sport, discover new techniques to enhance their hunting experience and learn more information on conservation practices for the great outdoors.
“We wanted to be heavily involved in giving Kansas the opportunity to carve its name into the halls of officially recognized Monster Buck states like Iowa and Illinois have done for years through their deer classic venues. We want this event to serve notice to the Midwest and rest of the Heartland of America that Kansas has officially arrived on the Monster Buck scene,” says Brian Smith, CEO of Mossy Oak Properties of the Heartland, the title sponsor of the event.
The Monster Buck Contest, is open to all Kansas Residents, however anyone, resident or non-resident can have a white tail officially scored by Boone and Crocket and Pope & Young measurers that will be onsite during the event. The contest will conclude on Sunday at 2:00 pm with prizes and awards given to the bucks in men, women and youth divisions. We will crown the first ever King of Kansas Typical and King of Kansas Non-Typical bucks in a coveted “Heisman” award of sorts. To enter the Monster Buck Contest or have a deer officially scored is $20.00, which includes, Boone and Crockett or Pope and Young Official Scoring and 1 General Admission Ticket that is good for the entire weekend.
The event will have some of hunting world’s most sought after and popular celebrities. Lee and Tiffany of The Crush will be the headliners along with Spook Spann, Pat and Nicole of Driven TV, Zac Cooper and Travis “T-Bone” Turner of the Bone Collector.
With over 90 exhibitors and vendors, attendees will be able to view and purchase the latest tools, technology and gear in the industry. Other attractions include; The West Texas Rattlesnake Show, The Antler Dog founder with trainer Roger Sigler and Bow-Masters 3-D Pop Up Target Course. There is 6,000 square foot of KidZone activities such as a bow range, pellet range and KDWP’s Laser Shot. Ticket Prices for the entire event range from $10 for adults to Free for children 6 and under. Paid admission is good for the entire weekend so patrons can come and go as they please.
