Bear Grylls Fired by Discovery Channel

Discovery Channel fired “Man vs. Wild” star and host Bear Grylls citing a “continuing contractual dispute” with the British T.V. personality. The 37-year-old had been featured in the popular survival show since 2006.

The Hollywood Reporter specifically said that Grylls was fired for a conflict over two unannounced projects he was contracted for.

Grylls’s show “Man vs. Wild” dropped him into remote, and often hostile, places to demonstrate survival and share invaluable survival strategies for the camera. He was known to be an adventurous eater who often went to extremes to demonstrate survival.

Speaking to Reuters, Grylls’s publicist Heather Krug said, “Bear’s goal has always been to make life-empowering shows for his many fans around the globe, and he has taken great risks to bring Discovery such award winning programming over seven seasons.”

All current productions with Grylls have been terminated and it is unclear where the survivor will go next.

The video below shows off some of the nauseating exploits that helped make Grylls famous.
