Indiana: Radio Disney Joins Hoosier Outdoor Experience
The Hoosier Outdoor Experience, the largest hands-on outdoor sporting event in the state, which is free to all participants, always rocks.
That will be especially true on the fourth annual event’s second and final day at Fort Harrison State Park in Indianapolis, Sept. 16, thanks to Radio Disney 98.3 FM Indianapolis.
The station, which is geared toward kids, tweens and families, will host a Family Fun Zone at the park’s Cherry Tree Picnic Area from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. that Sunday. The free activities will include a scavenger hunt, making a scarecrow, an obstacle course, a bike safety course and more.
“Radio Disney is as family-friendly as the Experience, and they wanted to do something that got people moving in the outdoors,” said Bourke Patton, executive director of the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation.
The INRF and the DNR are the event presenters. Participation is free to all. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
Last year an estimated 20,000 people attended in the state park’s spacious 1,700 acres. Room awaits for plenty more. The goal is to introduce people to outdoor activities they may have never tried.
As in previous years, there will be hands-on free activities for everyone, from target shooting to mountain biking, various types of fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and much more.
