Browning Camping Glacier Tent
Must Have Outdoors 06.30.13
For hunters camping can be a year-round experience, from going to your local state park for the weekend to an on your own hunting adventure out West. The Glacier tent from Browning Camping offers all-season durability, lots of room, and useful features.
The Glacier is a four-person tent. Usually a four-person tent means about two people and some of their gear, but the design of the Glacier allows for more sleeping room and gear room.
The tent is a freestanding two-pole design. The Glacier has straight walls which make it more sleeping cot friendly. They also make it easier to get in and out of, so you don’t have to army crawl your way in the tent.
The Glacier boasts an eight feet by nine feet base size and the center of the tent is six feet tall. Two large doors are featured on the tent and two large side windows and mesh roof vents allow for lots of air to travel through when it’s hot outside.
To help keep the elements out, the Glacier comes with a full coverage fly that creates two large vestibules on each door. The fly easily buckles to the tent and the doors can be rolled back for ventilation. The vestibules allow for storage outside of the tent and still keep your gear protected from the weather.
I was impressed with the heavier materials used to construct the tent. The floor of the tent is made from a heavy nylon oxford floor that is twice the weight of a normal nylon floor. This will help prevent sticks and rocks from puncturing holes into the bottom of the tent. The Glacier has large #10 zippers that are easy to handle and glide easily.
Setting up the tent is also very simple. The large pole clips on the tent are easy to attach and one person can easily set up this large tent.
At over 19 pounds, it isn’t the lightest tent to take out hunting, but it has lots of room for you, some friends, and your gear. The Glacier tent has an MSRP of $399.99 but I have seen it for sale cheaper online.
