The All New Veracity PH Will Change the Way You Hunt!

In this review, we are going to break down the features of the redesigned Veracity PH from Burris Optics. Designed for hunters and packed full of features, this scope could be the do all rifle scope you’ve been looking for.
It’s often said that your rifle scope is as important if not more important than the rifle you use and depending on your skills as a shooter, this is absolutely true. As someone who began their hunting obsession later in life, I have spent many hours researching and testing out products that will help me reduce the learning curve and increase my success in the field. I’ve always tried to be on the forefront of technology and really enjoy the process of using new tech before it becomes widely adopted. I truly believe that the Veracity PH from Burris is poised to have a breakout year and I’m going to tell you why.
The Technology
We live in a tech obsessed society and it seems that the hunting and firearm industries have been on the tail end of adoption when it comes to the civilian market. A few companies have been leading the charge and one of our favorite partners, Burris Optics, has leaned all the way in on their tech focused products creating a handful of scopes that are unlike anything else on the market. On my most recent trip to South Africa hunting plains game, I had the benefit of using the freshly redesigned Veracity PH and I could not have been more impressed.
The Veracity PH rifle scope has one of the most elegant technology integrations that I have seen in a rifle scope. Once you have established all of the required ballistic datapoints, your Veracity PH allows you to ditch your dope sheet and dial directly to the target yardage. That’s right, all you need to know is how far your target is and you simply dial to the yardage which is displayed on the heads up display which is visible inside your sight picture.
There are three main components of the Veracity PH that make this scope what it is:
Burris Connect App
The BurrisConnect App is the beating heart of the Veracity PH. Within the app is where you will do the majority of the work to establish your ballistics data and set your scope up to do the work it was meant to do. Leveraging Bluetooth as the communication protocol, the BurrisConnect app will pass all of your ballistic data to your Veracity PH. For example, in Africa I was using the new Savage Impulse KLYM rifle and Remington’s Core-Lokt tipped 300WM 180gr ammunition. Once I had zeroed my rifle, I entered all of the data associated with my rifle and ammunition in to the app and then set my zero in the app.
With that work done, I was ready to use the advanced features of the Veracity PH.
Programmable Elevation Turret
As mentioned above, the programming occurs within the BurrisConnect app and the data is then transmitted to the Veracity PH via bluetooth. Once your elevation turret has been programmed, dialling to your target yardage is honestly one of the easiest and most intuitive shooting sequences you will experiences. What is even crazier is that you are not forced to use the digital portion of the scope if you prefer a more traditional hunt. You can still dial to the desired range by making adjustments using the same MOA turret.
Heads Up Display
The HUD that is featured on this scope has a very clean design and gives you a a quick and easy way to view the elevation turret position in yards, meters, or MOA. It also displays your rifle cant and battery life, all of which is done without detracting from your sight picture.
With everything the Burris Veracity PH offers out of the box, it’s hard to believe that the scope is priced just north of $1,000. In today’s market, that is an incredibly affordable price compared to what you are receiving.
