Video: Blue Heron Eats a Gopher

Blue herons will eat almost anything they can swallow including fish, amphibians, reptiles, small mammals, and even other birds. However, it’s rare to see video footage of a blue heron eating a mammal as large as a gopher. The YouTuber who published this video said:

The Blue Heron kept hanging around our home and our neighbors’ homes, so I decided to take some pictures. We couldn’t figure out why it kept coming back, then on June 26, 2014 he was right behind our house, so I decided to video tape him. When you see this video you will see why he’s been hanging around.
